Royal Copenhagen porcelain, writing tray with inkwell, Denmark, 1st choice, incredible design by Erik Nielsen circa 1896, model no: 19. A strangling snake that has a frog in its clutches, which is trying to get out of them. The upper part of the frog is removable, under it hides an inkwell, again in it an inserted small original porcelain inkwell. Bottom side marked with wave mark. Polychrome underglaze painting, early green company mark before 1897, blue waves on rim. Small chip/hairline crack on rim, otherwise very good condition, no restorations or visible damage. Length: ca. 27 cm, width: ca. 17,5 cm, height: ca. 7,5 cm.
